Dear Friends,
It’s hard to believe Christmas is here again, but it seems to come sooner every year. Still, as we enjoy this special season and wind down another year, we’re given a great opportunity to look back on the past while looking forward to the year ahead. With that, I’m happy to say that Texas Steakhouse had a great 2011, and we couldn’t have done it without you.
Throughout 2011, the Texas team spent a lot of time looking for ways create value and enhance your overall guest experience. We introduced several delicious new dishes like the Texas Chili Burger, Chicken Tender Salad and Texas Chuck Roast. We also launched the Texas Steakhouse mobile app and Digital Spurs program, which allows guests to enjoy all of the perks of Gold Spurs’ membership right from their smartphone.
2011 also proved a great year for Texas Steakhouse’s efforts to support America’s men and women in uniform, as we surpassed $35,000 in total donations for the Wounded Warrior Project. And our first-ever Letters to the Troops campaign exceeded our expectations, collecting more than 2,850 cards, emails and messages of support for our heroes at home and abroad.
There’s so much more I could mention, but I’ll just close by saying that, thanks to you, 2011 has been one of the best yet for Texas Steakhouse. On behalf of our entire Texas family, I want to offer my heartfelt gratitude for your continued support and wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year. We look forward to serving you in 2012!
Sincerely,
Terry Smith. President
Texas Steakhouse

then maybe you could think about opening a restaurant back up in the Roanoke/Blacksburg area? I’m not so sure 2011 was such a great year for the people who worked at the 2 Roanoke restaurants you closed this year. I ain’t driving 50 miles to Wytheville or 70 miles to Princeton just to eat… Hope you can have a Merry Christmas and buy lots of presents for yourself and your family.
Thank you for the feedback, Jim. We certainly miss being in the Roanoke area and will make sure the rest of our team also receives your comment.
Couldn’t believe your Martinsville location was closed on New Years Day. And to make it worse, there were no signs on the doors. We watched as people kept coming to the door and pull. Then look in the windows and shake their heads… I am sure Applebees next door appreciated the extra business!
Thanks for the feedback, Chuck. We made the decision to close so our employees could celebrate the day with their families but appreciate your feedback.
over the years I have enjoyed my time in the steakhouse restaurants. Everyone seems happy welcoming and tend to the needs of the customer; so as I prepared myself for a relaxing dinner I noticed that my waitress seemed to be the only one working as I noticed again that she has at least 3 tables that I could tell. She was the only one for a long time I could see moving to get drinks and food etc. Now Ive worked as a server at other places and teamwork always seemed to be a key corner stone in most companys and no matter how hard I watched my waitress work I could only feel kinda sorry for her as if seemed like she was left out on the floor by herself she said what she could to make up feel welcome and never complained once but clearly she was tired. While hostess were standing around managers hardly seen. I left there feeling so sorry for that girl I felt like I couldnt enjoy eating as this girl bare the weight on her back as if slaved to her role. I truthful think that someone needed to say something the waitress ability to push on show that you have good employees which is a blessing. Yet the teamwork for one another at the staunton va, streakhouse was no where to be found an hear that for some people there it is a bit more bias towards a select few there. I just hope that your company finds away to reach out to this streakhouse and return the warm feeling that were there to take away from the ill feeling that i was left with watching the events on this night.
